Large Scratchboards

Scratchboard is where the artist scratches away the top layer of ink (usually black) with a sharp object to varying degrees exposing the clay beneath (usually white) to create an image.  If color is desired, it is applied, then scratched and repeated several times to develop depth until the artist is satisfied.
